The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, typically ranging from front-end UIs through back-end systems and all points in between.

Position Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, you will:

  • Apply strong, proven problem-solving skills and a proven ability to apply critical/analytical thinking to deliver sustainable and creative solutions to complex requirements
  • Support product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solution
  • Maintaining the Machine Learning platform supporting Data Science initiatives
  • Work with platform users to understand requirements, use cases, advise on strategy, and best practice for the platform
  • Solve difficult problems, learn recent technologies, and push the boundaries of what is possible
  • Work independently and in a team environment
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle
  • Participate in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization
  • Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
  • Mentor other engineers
  • Document topology, processes, and solution architecture
  • Assist with the training and enablement of end users, including data scientists, program managers, and data consumers
  • Utilize programming languages or scripting languages like Scala, Python, SQL, PowerShell or equivalent

Qualifications

  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and challenges, and understanding of Machine Learning Life Cycle
  • Experience with the Microsoft Azure cloud environments and associated components and resources, to create enterprise-grade applications environments
  • Experience with cloud data storage and compute components including Kubernetes, data lakes, compute clusters, and data warehouses
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles and comfortable working in Agile environment
  • Strong working knowledge of networking concepts (DNS/DHCP/Firewalls/Sub-netting, etc.)
  • Experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) platform to create and maintain CICD pipelines
  • Willing and able to excellent provide support 24x7 for the platform on an on-call rotation basis
  • Experience with Python for data manipulation and data science, and notebook-based data analysis solutions like Jupyter or Azure Databricks is preferred
  • Experience performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for application and infrastructure related issues is preferred
  • Ability to work independently, deliver results, and drive projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong ability to communicate blockers and issues to management for escalation and timely resolution
  • Strong team player, with desire to learn new skills and broaden experience

 Experience

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience with Python and develop and maintain machine learning models
  • 3+ years of experience with architecture and design
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
  • 2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
