Job Description

GEICO Technology Solutions is seeking a Senior Manager for our Enterprise Data Engineering Organization. This team is responsible for cloud infrastructure platforms focus on delivering batch and streaming processes, migrating applications to the cloud, developing transformation frameworks, and supporting full stack systems. As Senior Manager will lead efforts to develop, implement, and support full stack applications applying new cloud technologies. The individual will also lead innovation efforts of Geico’s data transformation services and develop strategy to modernize applications. It’s a collaborative role across all areas of the organization with opportunity to solve complex problems utilizing new technologies. The candidate will apply Agile practices and work together with other Agile teams implementing technical solutions.

Position responsibilities

As a Senior Manager you will:

• Manage experience teams of data and software engineers in an agile environment 
• Lead the efforts to migrate to cloud legacy applications, creating strategy, automated processes, and automated testing suits
• Lead a team to implement complex cloud applications utilizing transformation tools, python, and spark technologies
• Manage a team to build APIs, frameworks, horizontal lineage, and monitor dashboards
• Lead a team to design, implement and support platforms to the cloud (Rehydrations, Resiliency, snapshots, Disaster Recovery) 
• Collaborate with experience teams in Data organization and Line of Business to get and deliver requirements

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience in developing and implementing transformation processes utilizing transformation tools and new generation technologies
• At least 8 years of proven working experience with transformation tools
• At least 8 years of proven working experience in shell scripting with Linux 
• At least 7 years of Data engineering experience in Python code and Spark cluster computing framework 
• At least 5 years of people management experience 
• At least 5 years of Agile delivery experience 
• At least 5 years of proven experience in any cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform) 
• At least 3 years of experience with SQL databases (Azure SQL, AWS Redshift, Snowflake) 
• At least 3 years of experience with low latency databases (Cosmo DB, Dynamo) 
• At least 3 years of experience with NoSQL implementation
• At least 3 years of experience with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Elasticsearch, Splunk) 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
• Associate or Master Cloud Certification (Azure (Microsoft), AWS (Amazon), GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
