Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to help define and drive the transformation of GEICO’s Claims Systems? As manager of the Claims Technology, you will help set the roadmap for new Claims capabilities, DevOps and its associated deliveries. You will work closely with other leaders to define the capabilities, define new automation requirements, engineer, implement and prioritize the deliverables. You will use data and KPIs to identify and improve inefficient, manual, or fragile processes by building and leveraging automated solutions.

The ideal candidate should have experience and success in building partnerships with the business community, other application groups and external vendors. Innovative thinking and creativity in solving business problems is a critical component of the organization’s success. You must have an ability to work and think creatively in a fast-paced environment, on multiple projects and with a broad group of project teams.

The candidate will lead teams of highly skilled engineers, and business analysts. Responsibilities include system performance improvement, application development, DevOps innovation and production support for the Claims applications.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of hands on development and/or solutions engineering experience. Must have recent hands on experience with developing or designing cloud solutions.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing a large team comprised of multiple scrum teams.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, platforms, and technologies (AWS, Azure). Ability to prioritize and drive results based on business value to the organization.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and/or Model Development Lifecycle (MDLC).
  • Strong critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Responsible for production operations support and ensuring availability, stability and performance of production applications
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to both Senior Leadership and Highly Technical personnel.
  • Experience with strategic planning, establishing and communicating roadmaps, and allocation of resources

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Agile concepts and processes.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, Release Management, and Configuration Management processes and tooling Understanding of data modeling and AI concepts.
  • Understanding of Claims applications and architecture is plus.
  • To be a candidate you must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
