Job Description

Coupang Play's Analytics team is the link between business, product, marketing, and technology, helping to increase the number of subscribers and improve performance indicators that are important to the mission. Senior Data Analysts in the Analytics team work with internal staff for various functions to develop/expand/level up data infrastructure and tools to suit the reporting and forecasting needs of the business, and solve complex business problems by utilizing data-based techniques. The ideal colleague we are looking for is someone who can develop a strong opinion on how to implement world-class marketing/growth analytics at Coupang Play, understand vague challenges, and build strong technical solutions to solve problems across multiple teams. This is a self-directed talent who can collaborate with others, improve process efficiency, provide tools to make strategic decisions in the field, and drive the overall growth of Coupang Play. 

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunity areas to improve brand awareness and remove factors that hinder user adoption
  • Increase the number of subscribers by identifying growth levers to attract new subscribers, prevent customer churn, and improve customer retention/monetization/customer lifetime value (LTV) through collaboration with product/engineering/marketing/finance teams. propel
  • Develop infrastructure to define business/growth/marketing KPIs and indicators essential to the success of Coupang Play and automate tracking and reporting of these indicators
  • Collaborate closely with Coupang Play's engineering/product/operations/finance teams to secure unstructured data from source systems and design and build a powerful data pipeline.
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards that satisfy stakeholders and provide them with indicators that can be used to support strategic decisions.
  • Utilizes data to identify the best targeting, channels, and messages to increase user adoption/viewership/engagement and measure the success of marketing campaigns
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets to provide clear, accurate, and useful insights and suggestions
  • Identify repetitive analysis tasks and build automated solutions to improve and eliminate manual tasks
  • Perform ad-hoc/end-to-end analysis of strategic issues as needed by management.

Basic Qualification Requirements

  • Holder of a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent work experience in a business intelligence, data analysis, data science, or data engineering-related field
  • A person with more than 5 years of practical experience using SQL to manipulate complex and unsystematic data sets
  • A person with more than 5 years of practical experience managing data marts and data pipelines using ETL tools such as Airflow, Hive, and Presto.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience building executive dashboards and visuals using tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects, and QlikView.
  • Anyone with practical experience measuring and reporting various marketing indicators such as CAC, LTV, ROAS, attribution, forecasting, etc.
  • You have practical experience designing A/B tests and multivariate tests and/or using statistical methods to interpret test results and present the results to a non-expert audience.
  • People with practical experience in solving business problems using quantitative and statistical techniques such as hypothesis testing, regression, causality, and correlation analysis
  • An independent person with problem-solving skills who can implement the best solution by starting from user and business requirements and working backwards, even if work guidelines are limited.
  • A person who can take on multiple professional projects simultaneously in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
  • A person with excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills
  • As a senior, you have the ability to lead and prioritize your own work, manage deadlines, and help colleagues do the same.

Preferred Qualification Requirements

  • Experience working in the OTT video streaming industry and/or a passion for the industry
  • Those who are fluent in speaking and writing in both English and Korean
  • Have experience working with datasets using Python, R, SAS, MATLAB, or other statistical software
  • Anyone with experience in data modeling and schema design
