Job Description

What You Will Do

• Use your strategic insight and technical expertise to drive user growth and maturity of our data infrastructure and business reporting solutions
• Cultivate a deep understanding of Coupang Play’s business and catalog data to be able to wrangle unstructured data from source systems, and architect and deploy robust data pipelines
• Analyze usage metrics and user behaviors behind content consumption, using that data to drive deal-related decision-making and problem-solving
• Query and synthesize multiple datasets from different sources to extract and communicate viewer trends, subscriber engagement, and forecast/predict content performance
• Develop analyses to identify ROI of current content investments and future content investment opportunities
• Partner closely and communicate effectively with senior leaders and product managers to translate loose business questions into clear and actionable reports, insights and recommendations using sound and complex data analysis
• Develop bespoke business intelligence solutions such as dashboards, reports and visualizations that delight stakeholders, drive effective decision-making and enable monitoring of key business metrics
• Use SQL, Hive, Airflow, Presto, Python, Tableau and Redash as part of your analytical toolkit
• Identify recurring analyses and deploy automation solutions that improve or eliminate manual work
• Drive ad-hoc, end-to-end analysis into strategic issues as needed by management

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent practical experience in business intelligence, data analytics, data science or data engineering roles
• 7+ years of practical experience using SQL to manipulate complex and unstructured data sets
• 7+ years of practical experience maintaining data marts and data pipelines via ETL tools such as Airflow, Hive, Presto, etc
• 7+ years practical experience building executive-level dashboards and visualizations with tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects, QlikView, etc
• Practical experience using quantitative and statistical techniques to solve business problems such as hypothesis testing, regression, causal and correlation analysis, etc
• Independent problem solver able to work backwards from user/business requirements to deploy best-in-class solutions with limited guidance
• Ability to own multiple technical projects simultaneously in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Exemplary communication, writing and interpersonal skills
• As a senior, you can own and prioritize your work, manage deadlines, and help others do the same

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and/or passion in the OTT video streaming industry.
• Ability to speak and write in both English and Korean fluently.
• Experience working with datasets using Python, R, SAS, MATLAB, or other statistical software.
• Experience with data modeling and schema design.
