Responsibilities

As PNNL looks to our future as a world-class research institution, one thing is clear: we must transform the way we gain operational insights at the laboratory through data analytics. The Digital Analytics Manager will lead and develop a team of data architects and engineers in a transition that brings together our current data architecture and reporting with contemporary cloud technologies, enabling dynamic data storytelling through visualizations and empowering data scientists to mine for insights that help PNNL make better business decisions. 

You will leverage your excellent leadership capabilities and collaboration skills to work with laboratory leaders and business partners to advance data and reporting capabilities that support data driven insights across the organization. As the Digital Analytics Manager, you are uniquely positioned to collaborate across teams that support all major platforms in PNNL’s digital workplace in executing a holistic strategy that spans process, governance, analytics and architecture. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS/BA and 9+ years of relevant work experience -OR-
• MS/MA and 7+ years of relevant work experience -OR-
• PhD with 5+ year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to employ an enterprise perspective in delivering data solutions that support cloud, on-premise, and hybrid architectures for application and analytic use.
• Adept at leading discussions with various levels of experience including business and technical leadership.
• Advanced conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, process analysis, and data quality analysis skills using modern tools and techniques.
• Experience in data engineering for AI/ML and deep learning with the design, fine-tuning, and deployment of corpora for LLM training.
• Excellent ability to bring together a team of data and analytics engineers and architects to execute the strategy.
• Expertise with Cloud data architectures and services (i.e., cloud storage types, analytics tools, big data solutions).
• Demonstrated ability to solve challenging technical problems with innovative solutions.
• Knowledge and Experience with complex ETL processes to move and integrate data.
• Demonstrated knowledge of SQL query development, complex stored procedures, and advanced optimization techniques.
• Experience with API and event-based architectures as well as data warehouse concepts and techniques.
• Ability to assimilate knowledge quickly in a variety of domains.
