The Role

Fidelity Assistants are helping transform how our clients engage with us for their service and advice needs. The NLP Capabilities Squad Leader (Advanced Digital eXperience Product Area) blends business and technology expertise with a passion for innovation to inspire and enable the team to find new ways of building and leveraging AI-powered solutions. Leading a cross-functional team of 8-10 associates, the Squad Leader leads the squad strategy and tactical execution associated with delivering on a strategic product roadmap. 

You will be working in an agile structure, collaborating with other Fidelity leaders to influence and align on product or capability roadmaps and resource requirements and bringing together a team of chapter members to deliver. The Squad Leader ensures alignment on the “what” & “when” work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog. You will enable squad members to work iteratively; innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success.

This leader is committed to developing their own expertise and knowledge to ensure they bring the latest thinking to the role, and help Fidelity drive the next generation of AI-powered Assistants for our clients.

The Team

As part of the Personal Investing Digital Experience domain, we obsess about providing our Clients and Associates simple, fast, and easy digital solutions across all channels. The ADX product area is focused on accelerating our digital service and creating a seamless customer experience powered by industry leading AI-based natural language processing solutions.

As a Squad Lead, you will work in partnership with the Product Area Leader, other Squad Leaders, Scrum Master, and Chapter Leaders aligned to your squad. By demonstrating and promoting Fidelity and agile leadership behaviors, you sustain and evolve our innovative agile culture.

Your Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred
  • 10+ years of related experience and/or digital product management solving customer problems through digital solutions
  • Experience with Natural Language Processing, conversational interfaces, and dialogue management techniques
  • Experience solving problems using artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions, including ML Ops challenges (model updates, retraining cycles, etc.)
  • Strong focus on execution and building high-performing teams
  • Financial services experience preferred
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile development, Design Thinking, Lean Start-Up, preferred

Your Responsibilities

  • Defining, refining, and communicating the squads' mission and roadmap to empower and establish team and partner support and alignment
  • Running integrated business and software engineering teams deploying software to millions of customers and thousands of associates every year
  • Working with emerging technology capabilities to rapidly test, learn, and scale new solutions
  • Identifying client needs using data-driven approaches and translating those needs into product roadmaps
  • Working with business partners to balance strategic capability development and immediate business needs
  • Leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority
  • Cultivating positive relationships and seeking feedback and expertise as you work across Fidelity to deliver business outcomes.
