Chapter Leader – Digital Servicing Technology

Role

Our chapter comprises teams that work on a wide range of applications and platforms across Fidelity.com (http://fidelity.com/), Fidelity Mobile and Investor Centers. The Chapter Leader (CL) brings skilled expertise as a ground-breaking engineering leader and partner to aligned product teams fostering a vibrant community of growth, development, and continuous learning. This multi-faceted role is critical to the development of customer-centric solutions founded on progressive engineering principles and culture.

Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Providing Engineering expertise, consulting in the Triad of Product Mgmt, Engineering & Human-Centric Design – to Squads across product management teams.
  • Work collaboratively with the squad leader to prioritize technical efforts and provide feedback on product features and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with architecture and Platform Engineering teams on setting technical direction and ensure alignment with our technology strategy; drive scale & reuse by demonstrating platforms and capabilities.
  • Engage as a domain expert, staying abreast of and chipping in to external industry trends, advancements, and innovations in the Content Management space
  • Create and promote the vision, roadmap, and expectations for the engineering community.
  • Define and implement a workforce plan to attract, hire, grow and retain skills of talent across chapters.
  • Responsible for decision making across the Chapter on standards, resources, and overall direction of work through proactive partnership with executives across technology and business.
  • Collaborate with Chapter Area Leader to plan for and provide the skilled talent needed to ensure squads have the right expertise, at the right time, to get work done.
  • Facilitate learning at scale to promote skill, career, and development growth for chapter leaders and chapter members.
  • Maintain and share knowledge and expertise on the evolving needs of customers, internal and external markets, and industry trends and changes across chapter community.
  • Oversee, navigate, and lead Chapter members through organizational complexity in support of cross-domain and cross-product area work.
  • Lead chapter members related talent reviews, performances, compensation, goal setting, development, and top talent recruitment practices.
  • Advance Diversity and Inclusion through promotion of inclusive hiring practices, mentoring and coaching.
  • 7-10+ years of functional experience in product management, technology and/or business, with a high level of agile, analytical, and coaching skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, specifically Azure Cloud Services to test and deploy enterprise applications.
  • Shown experience in handling and scaling Machine Learning models; understanding of NLU and NLP concepts, with exposure to MLOps (training, evaluation and model life cycle management).
  • Experience in handling enterprise grade applications specifically, proven understanding of a telephony/IVR system (Nuance, AmazonConnect) and automated testing of IVR systems.
  • Knowledge of Java tech stack including Java, JSP, Spring Boot and expertise in GraphQL, automation Tools/Frameworks (RestAssured) delivery infrastructure (Jenkins, uDeploy).
  • Knowledge in API Design & Development and Microservices Architecture!
  • Sophisticated level of knowledge of multiple product and technology areas and experience with multiple business products, and/or processes.
  • Deep understanding of agile and strategies for improving the effectiveness of the methodology through standard processes, coaching.
  • Authenticity and personal commitment to coach engineers across multiple levels, craft frameworks for skills progression, influence careers, and grow leadership skills!
  • Proven track record, inspiring the creativity and innovation of teams, creating a culture of inclusion, experimentation, exploration.
  • Ability to collaborate across business units, with peers and leadership to ensure chapter objectives, key performance indicators and standards are aligned.
  • Ability to effectively connect with and influence all levels of the organization and motivate change.

The Team

As an Engineering Chapter Leader, will lead teams to develop omni channel user experiences and the underlying platforms needed to support our digital presence on a cloud-based infrastructure. Provide the technology know-how, leadership and influencing skills to be accountable for overall technology strategy, digital transformation, thought leadership and talent development across the Digital Servicing Technology Chapter and multiple business units. Lead initiatives that supply ideas to improve our products as well as develop skills, learn new technologies and languages, and continue to learn while maintaining a strong focus on providing coaching, mentorship and driving talent development across our engineering teams.
