Fidelity Workplace Investing is seeking a Data Science leader to lead a team supporting personalization and customization. This position will work with technical specialists in engineering and with managers of market research and product development teams while leading an experienced data science team.

As Data Scientists, we support projects across many areas and ensure the highest degree of quality. The ideal Data Scientist will have a sophisticated understanding of the entire data science life cycle, from working with web site professionals on experimental design, gathering required data in any shape and size, processing it into useful features, training machine learning models, and assisting technical teams to move models into production and measure business results.

Expertise and Skills you bring.

• People management in a technical environment. Proven ability to mentor and coach other data scientists on project delivery and long-term skill development.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of comfort communicating complex material to non-technical and highly technical audiences alike.

• Statistical and data science programming with advanced proficiency in Python, and software engineering best practices.

• Expert in training regression and classification models using typical ML algorithms, creating model documentation, and communicating model output (such as features and performance).

• Highly experienced in conducting technical reviews of data science projects.

• Data extraction and feature engineering for processing and transforming data into relevant features.

• Committed to continuous learning and able to pick up new knowledge quickly.

• Experience in real-time scoring, large language models, reinforcement learning, and Generative AI a plus.

• Collaboration and relationship management: understanding partner needs, designing AI solutions

• PhD or Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. statistics, data science, applied math, quantitative science), with applied research experience.

• 12+ years of professional experience and/or PhD level research experience in AI/ML, advanced analytics, modeling, and optimization.

• Preferred experience in managing people/teams, leading programs, and AI/ML strategy & operations.
