The platform’s unified data will drive business decisions which enable Fidelity’s vision of helping our customers achieve their financial goals. Coordinated Data Modeling is key to aligning our various supplying Business Units towards a vision of Unified Enterprise Data.

We are seeking someone who is looking for an exciting and ambitious opportunity to continue to improve our data model and our modeling standards and operating model. In this role you will quickly develop relationships across the enterprise that help you understand Fidelity’s business model, our current data environment and needs, and how data drives our success. We will provide opportunities for you to collaborate with all our Business Units to provide mentorship in implementing the right data model and practices that meet their needs.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technology related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven experience in designing and deploying highly performant data models that meet business needs.
  • 5+ years of data modeling experience in a large enterprise.
  • Demonstrable experience in modeling using a variety of techniques (3NF, dimensional, data vault, etc.) for different data stores and use cases.
  • Solid experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban).
  • Good communication skills to encourage confidence, build executive presentations and guide strategic discussions with business partners.
  • Ability to understand and adapt to changing business priorities and technology advancements.
  • Willingness to partner optimally with both technology and business partners across the firm.
  • A willingness to cultivate and support an environment of diversity and inclusion
  • Proven experience in Modern Data Architecture techniques and Cloud Data Technologies
  • Expertise in evaluating, prototyping and recommending emerging data technologies to support data modeling and related data management processes.

The Purpose of your role

  • Own all data modeling efforts for an Analytic Theme within our Snowflake Analytic Platform, including the design of data structures and the identification of business transformation logic.
  • Ensure the consistency, availability, understanding and performance of data by following and improving best practices and standards for data modeling.
  • Drive the creation of common dimensions, enterprise dimensions and consistent structures across the Analytic Platform.
  • Partner with data SMEs, data governance staff and architects and product owners to ensure that data meets consumption needs and conforms to governance standard methodologies.
  • Perform data model reviews with team members.
