What to Expect

The Autopilot Hardware team is looking for a Senior Software/Performance Model Engineer to join the team in Palo Alto, CA. Fabrid software+performance engineers are expected to develop, test and document software, models, and drivers for the Dojo supercomputer custom interconnect and network infrastructure. 

The successful applicant will join a team of deeply knowledgeable engineers and have an opportunity to solve ambitious and challenging problems in the server interconnect infrastructure software and performance space.  The applicant will work closely with hardware teams and have opportunities to engage in real hardware/software co-design tradeoffs of complex network server systems. 

What You’ll Do

• Deliver high-quality C, C++, and Python code in performance models, NICs, accelerators, Linux kernel drivers, and embedded environments. 
• Design full system/network performance models to predicte and correlate optimization trade-offs to meet product requirements. 
• Specify, design, and implement functionality, behaviors, and congestion methods in network subsystems. 
• Design the software architecture and firmware implementation on hardware through integration, new APIs, testing and volume manufacturing. 
• Hands-on hardware bring-up, system debugging and code optimization, including BMC management and host system configurations. 

What You’ll Bring

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability. 
• 5+ years of experience in software or firmware for development in robotics, real-time controls, machine learning accelerators, or system software. 
• Proficiency in C, C++ , Python. 
• Fluent in software fundamentals including software design and maintainability. 
• Controls software and algorithm development. 
• Performance modeling experience 
• Test driven development and familiarity with developer driven automated testing. 
• Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts. 
• Understanding of physics and basic principles is highly preferred. 
• Proven knowledge working with network protocols such as TCP/IP or InfiniBand preferred. 
• Development experience with silicon-development oriented languages such as System Verilog preferred.

Expected Compensation

$104,000 - $348,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
