Job Description

As a software engineer on the Autopilot Computer Vision and AI team, you will contribute to one of the most advanced and widely-deployed computer vision stacks in the world. Along with top researchers from academia and some of the most experienced autonomous vehicle engineers in the industry, you will marry cutting-edge deep learning algorithms with robust, real-time software, and deliver safety-critical features to hundreds of thousands of customers. You will develop and support a host of different projects, driven first-and-foremost by our mission to deploy the safest and most effective product in the market.

What You’ll Do

• Develop state-of-the-art, online and offline state estimation and 3D perception algorithms by fusing information from cameras, IMUs and other sensors.
• Design, validate and improve your algorithms against billions of challenging real-world data sequences.
• Design and develop automated data generation pipelines that create various types of high quality, unbiased ground truth data for real-world perception problems.
• Create robust sensor calibration systems that perform reliably in complex and unpredictable environments.
• Collaborate with a team of exceptional individuals laser focused on bringing vehicular autonomy to fruition.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong mathematical fundamentals including Linear Algebra, Vector calculus, Probabilistic theory, and Mathematical Optimization along with relevant implementation experience.

• Ability to write production-level code in modern C++ is highly desirable.
• Ability to quickly prototype and profile algorithms in Python is also desired.
• Strong background in core problems in computer vision and robotics is a plus; examples include, but not limited to, Bayesian estimation (e.g., MAP, MMSE, MLE), Classical or Neural Structure-from-Motion and 3D Reconstruction, SLAM, and Bundle Adjustment.

Expected Compensation

$116,000 - $360,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
