What to Expect

Tesla's Autopilot & Tesla Bot Tools team builds systems, apps and services used in the development, debugging, and ongoing validation of the Autonomy software, both for our car and our Humanoid robot. – essentially boosting the entire R&D group’s productivity.

We’re constantly finding new ways to solve the core autonomy challenges, and the tooling you’ll write to analyze, or visualize the outputs of these new solutions or to automate new development workflows (improving engineering velocity) are absolutely critical to our success. You’ll work with all teams across the Autonomy R&D group, understanding how they tackle the challenges towards full autonomy, and help them get there faster. 

What You’ll Do

• Improve and maintain the frontends and backends of our Autopilot tools.
• Work with controls, planning, and machine learning engineers to build tooling tailored to their workflows.
• Debug issues with our live system, identify the root causes, and fix them.
• Build metrics and monitor performance + reliability of our systems.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and Python.
• Experience with data visualization in Python.
• Experience building modern web applications using React (Three.js nice to have).
• Experience with AWS services (nice to have).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.

Expected Compensation

$104,000 - $360,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
