Job Description

An integral part of a USAID data analysis team, the candidate develops data products by leveraging operational, economic, management, accounting and other organizational data to quantify the competitive performance of business segments, evaluate potential operational changes, and design new methodologies. Applies and integrates statistical, mathematical, predictive modeling and business analysis skills to manage complex and disparate data sources.

• Design and maintain ETL processes to ingest and prepare data for analysis
• Determine additional technology requirements to support growing business requirements
• Support systems and processes to ensure USAID's Chief Information Officer requirements and regulations
• Primarily responsible for working with context data relevant to international development, but also supports work using internal data on USAID programs and operations
• Access and cleanse data, perform statistical analysis, visualize data, and communicate results
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends in multiple data sets
• Evaluate changes and updates to source production
• Provide technical knowledge in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing
• Stay apprised of industry trends

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two (2) years' experience with data cleaning and data visualization; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience/military
• Active Secret clearance required
• Demonstrated experience with communicating complex data analysis clearly and understandably to people with no statistics or programming background
• Advanced Tableau experience
• Advanced knowledge of Google Apps Scripting
• Ability to perform exploratory data analysis
• Working knowledge of statistics
• Working knowledge of machine learning and AI
• Working knowledge of common data science toolkits
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Working knowledge of data science programming in Python and/or JavaScript
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies
• Strong technical writing skills
• Excellent attention to detail
