Job Description

The D330 Management Systems group is responsible for providing functional and technical support to the Supply Chain Community and overseeing the applications and interfaces that are utilized by Electric Boat buyers, supplier quality, engineering groups and our vendors. Our applications include Oracle ERP, MRP II, Exostar and SPARS; and we are the point of contact for solving complex business issues and data problems, managing priority issues, improve processes, and interfaces among new and legacy systems.

Responsibilities:

This specific position will take a lead role in the support of our Oracle ERP system and requires strong skills in the areas of critical thinking, data analysis, SQL, and an understanding of application development and backend databases. In this position you will help identify resolve complex issues sent to the team regarding the application, build improvements to our support process, train business systems users to reduce incoming tickets, and will aid our product management team in building the vision for the product. Duties include:

  • Interacting with the supply chain business system community including purchasing, quality and material services organizations as well as the information technology department at EB, and our supply base
  • Working with Oracle directly to identify and solve business problems, communicating those issues to management and our EBIT development teams; building clear and concise communications to our end users for educational purposes
  • Registering EB personnel and EB suppliers; assigning and maintaining system roles and permissions for supply chain business application(s)
  • Serving a support desk function for the business system application(s); Multi-tasking and problem solving on a daily basis; following up on issues to completion. Identification of themes for proactive resolution and reduction of incoming tickets.
  • Creating SQL queries to support issue resolution; Recognizing and communicating technical/functional problems with supply chain business system application(s).
  • Analyze and learn business software and Support and CR processes.
  • Actively participate in development and testing of supply chain business application(s), support of roll-out and enhancements
  • Monitoring compliance to business process policies and procedures; advising users on process and policy adherence for the application(s). Support of Materials Management Auditing.
  • Developing required training materials (as needed)

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors of Science (or Higher) in Engineering or Computer related technologies
  • Microsoft Excel experience
  • More advanced SQL experience or basic SQL experience with some programming/application development knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment

Preferred:

  • 2 or more years experience in Oracle or SAP system integration, implementation, testing, training, etc.
  • Experience with business/systems analysis
  • Visio knowledge
