Job Description

DATA ARCHITECT:

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Data Architect you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Data Architect joining our team to develop new business intelligence reports, analytical capabilities, and data warehouses; execute development for enhancements and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems and environments; and execute special projects to continuously expand, enhance, and maintain enterprise business intelligence, analytical, warehousing, technological, and user support capabilities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• At least 5 years of experience in requirements analysis, systems engineering, operations and maintenance.

TECHNICALS SKILLS:

• Extensive knowledge and skills to architect, design, and develop enterprise data warehouse components, including data marts, operational data stores, staging, and archival databases
• Extensive experience building star schemas, Type I and Type II dimensions, facts to dimensions matrices, and working with large enterprise data warehousing, reporting, and Business Intelligence (BI) projects.
• Extensive knowledge in dimensional modeling concepts.
• Extensive experience in building conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Extensive experience in developing and maintaining a metadata repository.
• Extensive experience in at least one major RDBMS platform (DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server) possess the necessary people skills to identify requirements and deliver results.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills and effectively communicate details with all levels of management.
• Possess the necessary people skills to identify requirements and deliver results.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience using data modeling tools, preferably ERWin and/or TOAD Data Modeler.
• Understanding of ETL tools, preferably Informatica,.
• Prior work experience with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's Degree

LOCATION:

• Customer Site ( FBI facilities in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, primarily the FBI Headquarters currently the J. Edgar Hoover Building

CLEARANCE:

• Top Secret (clearance initially issued or revalidated within the past five years and Single Scope Background Investigation SSBI), and be eligible to receive access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
