Job Description

Provides analysis and research for national security, infrastructure, technology, country, geographic area, biographic and targeted vulnerability. Prepares assessments of current threats and trends based on the sophisticated collection, research and analysis of classified and open-source information. Assists with development of analytical procedures to meet changing requirements and ensure maximum operational success. Collects data using a combination of standard intelligence methods and business processes. Performs data collection, analysis, interpretation, and management duties. Prepares presentations that reflect the results of the data analysis. Works with scientists and other technical experts to design and develop statistical analyses methodologies. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies and subject areas.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of experience
  • BA/BS or equivalent, 2+ years of experience
  • Certificate, boot camp, or Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Health Informatics, or related field of study is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

GDIT has an opportunity for aGIS Developer/Analystin Atlanta, Georgia to join our team supporting theCenters for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD and TB Prevention (NCCHHSTP). The objective of this requirement is to acquire technical assistance in the development, modifications, and maintenance of the NCHHSTP AtlasPlus Data Visualization Tool.

HOW A GIS DEVELOPER/ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Performs data analysis, interpretations, and management duties. Develops rules and methodologies for data collection and analysis and employs data science methodologies to analyze and visualize patterns, trends, and predictions within geospatial data sources.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor of Bachelor of Science
  • Required Experience:
    • 3+ years of related experience in analyzing geospatial data to identify geospatial and temporal patterns and relationships.
  • The ability to:
    • Contribute to interdisciplinary teams that develop study questions which examine the geographic and temporal variations in disease.
    • Utilizes established techniques to locate, maintain, manipulate, extract, and analyze geographic data.
    • Quantify the structure and distribution of spatially referenced data using statistical analyses to advance the understanding of the linkage between exposure and disease.
    • Analyze geospatial and temporal patterns and trends evident in health outcome and environmental sampling data using analysis methods available within the ArcGIS Suite of products, SaTScan, R, and other GIS analysis, GIS data manipulation, and map production tools and present findings.
    • Produce static and interactive cartographic products to communicate complex patterns, trends, and concepts.
    • Provide expertise in the process of geocoding, the resolution of geocoding problems, and the proper use of geocoding in public health practice and research.
    • Automate GIS analysis, reporting, and mapping tasks using automation tools such as such as Python and Model Builder (ArcGIS).
    • Organize, manage, and prepare GIS data for effective analysis, mapping, reporting and integration.
    • Develop and design import and validation methodologies to import datasets in a variety of formats.
    • Apply extensive knowledge and experience with software products such as Microsoft SQL, Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Google (Maps, Google Earth), and Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Support project managers and other stakeholders to complete projects within schedule, without compromising quality.
