Requires a Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

GPS Source, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of GDMS, is a world class innovator and manufacturer of high quality, high performance position, navigation and timing (PNT) technologies for demanding defense and commercial markets. Our tight knit product development team needs a Senior Systems Engineer/Data Analyst, who is an expert in data analysis, development of data analysis tools, and PNT technology to help design, deliver and support first-to-market PNT solutions. This position will be located in our Colorado Springs, Colorado location (near I-25 and Circle Drive) with opportunities for flex from office, but not remote. Candidate must be willing to relocate.

As a Systems Engineering Expert, youll identify and define new PNT product innovations, perform data analysis, develop data analysis tools, requirements analysis and management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration, and test (verification and validation), product configuration, fielding, support, and maintenance in mission critical environments. What You Bring To The Table:

  • Experience in all phases of product development, system engineering, deployment V&V, and sustainment
  • Strong mathematical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data
  • Knowledge of a programming language like C, R, MATLAB, and Python
  • Experience creating data visualizations or contextually tailored graphs
  • Able to quickly synthesize and clearly report relevant information (data and metrics)
  • Continually finding ways to innovate and improve data analysis practices and tools
  • Demonstrated application and tailoring of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and processes
  • Proficiency with requirements development, system modeling, and simulation tools
  • Ability to recognize various architectural patterns, apply them appropriately, understand strengths/weaknesses within those architectures and develop architectural variations as necessary
  • A Masters Degree in Advanced Systems Engineering is a strong plus
  • Experience developing embedded products in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Deep-dive analytical and problem-solving skills
