Job Description

Leads the strategic framework and development of data governance policies, standards, and best practices to maintain data quality and compliance. They orchestrate data lineage, cataloging, and metadata management, fostering transparency and accountability in data usage throughout the organization.

Plays a crucial role in shaping and leading the data science strategy and applies their strategic expertise to empower and facilitate forward-thinking decision-making. They work closely with business stakeholders and IT partners to ensure access to high-quality data while nurturing a data-driven culture that promotes experimentation and innovation.

Partners with peers within the Compensation and Data Excellence department to govern and maintain a single source of truth for critical business master data. This key leadership position plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between data and business outcomes, and is instrumental in fostering a data-centric culture across the organization.

Role Responsibilities 

• Develop, implement and manage strategic Data Excellence initiatives with Senior Leaders both within Roche Diagnostics Corporation and globally
• Partner with Global IT and Integrated Informatics to co-create an ongoing operating support model for Roche Diagnostics Corporation
• Drive the launch and management of Roche Diagnostics Corporation cloud data infrastructure (Snowflake) using associated Data Mesh principles and Agile methodologies
• Evolve Data Science strategy and capabilities across Roche Diagnostics Corporation through adoption of advanced analytics techniques and partnering with internal global resources. 
• Manage all aspects of team's daily responsibilities including setting priorities, managing workload, meeting deadlines and delivering value added solutions for key initiatives.
• Builds relationships with stakeholders, effectively communicates to them and engages with them to deliver insights
• Builds a culture that encourages development, inclusion, recognition, innovation and feedback
• Identifies and implements process improvements to drive efficiency, effectiveness and cost savings
• Leads team with a high level of change agility by quickly accepting change and driving it in a positive manner
• Builds strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders and peers that includes timely feedback and communication to gain alignment

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor degree and 8 years of data management experience. Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 5 years of leadership experience with direct responsibility for people

Preferred Requirements

• Previous data management or project management experience
• In-depth knowledge of data architecture, ETL processes, data modeling, and database technologies, including but not limited to Snowflake, Alteryx, Microsoft SQL Server, Python
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor a team of data professionals
• Management experience in cloud infrastructure and/or Data Science
• Strong problem solving and consistent decision making skills
• Ability to collaborate with executive leadership and provide effective enterprise wide solutions
• Proven track record of delivering results while partnering with a global IT organization
• Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of an organization from technical teams and business stakeholders to Executive leadership
• Experience in delivery of large project/program
