Job Description

This is a Hybrid position within our DBTT Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. This position requires an employee to be onsite 2-3 times per week.

General Motors is continuing to innovate on our connected vehicle initiatives and is transforming the customer and vehicle experience within this space. For us, the future is now – designing and developing hyperscale data and computational systems enabling General Motors connected vehicle and related vehicle data products. We have an opening for a Scrum Leader within our Vehicle Data Architecture & Delivery team.

What You'll Do:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment developing vehicle data collection and processing solutions with cutting edge technologies to support the tremendous amount of data connected vehicles produce
  • The Scrum Leader will support one or two scrum teams working within Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) / agile methodology
  • Coach the team in lean/agile principles and ensure the team is working within the SAFe / agile guardrails to maximize flow within the team
  • Leverage your excellent listening, facilitation and conflict resolution skills to help coordinate across scrum teams / organization boundaries to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of solutions
  • Lead the team’s ceremonies, including daily standups, iteration reviews, iteration planning and retrospective
  • Prepares the team PI planning, system demos and other workshops
  • Engage with metrics to continue to drive improved performance / delivery within the team
  • Work with Technical Product Owners to ensure product backlog is groomed, refined and ready for the next sprint
  • Lead and mentor other scrum leaders with diverse specialties and experience levels

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 7+ years experience in Scrum Leader / lead for a software team that was diligently applying SAFe / agile principles and practices or equivalent role
  • Bachelor's degree required (technical discipline preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship leadership skills to optimally collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed
  • Can set and balance priorities efficiently, even in the face of ambiguity
  • Works independently and in a self-organized, multifaceted team environment.
  • Can guide team discussion for product and team improvement across a wide variety of personality types.
  • Positive relationship building skills, including the ability to relate constructively to all levels of the organization

What will give you competitive edge (Preferred Requirements)

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in the automotive industry
  • Master's degree
