The Data Modeler is accountable for designing, implementing, and documenting data storage solutions, through the use of relational and dimensional databases while adhering to policies and procedures for running consumption and compliance to GM Data Standards.. These solutions support enterprise information management, business intelligence, machine learning, data science, and other business interests. The modeler will also contribute to data & Tool standards that coincide with the organizational direction.

Job Responsibilities:

• Illustrate subjects using simple diagrams
• Comprehend and apply Data Architecture Standards and design patterns
• Provide verbal and written communication skills and acceptable ability to communicate effectively with team members, peers, and leadership
• Work constructively in and facilitate a group
• Review requirements and provide feedback to further develop requirement as well as identify overall project impact due to changes.
• Perform Data Mapping and file interface designs
• Identify gaps in data to support requests and deliver business value
• Identify and suggest resolutions to problems
• Build and utilize relationships to achieve business objectives
• Breakdown action items into tasks with estimates and dependencies
• Deliver training to preceding job grades
• Propose solutions to project issues

Additional Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience with Data Modeling
• 2+ years with Erwin Data Modeler
• Ability to ramp up and learn new processes quickly
• Ability to review, debug, and enhance data integrations
• Strong communication skills
• Holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors.
• Models GM behaviors and crafts a winning culture.
