Lab Summary:

The Visual Solutions Lab (VSL) located in Irvine California develops state of the art video processing methods in areas of High Dynamic Range (HDR) video and Super Resolution (SR) for use in Samsung TVs and emerging advanced display products.

Position Overview:

For this position we are looking to advance our technology in handling broad varieties of synthetic content and are looking for a summer engineering intern to help us develop data sets and algorithms for our next-generation visual technologies. As a summer engineering intern, you will develop synthetic image datasets using 3D modeling software and/or GPU APIs thereby contributing to the development of novel HDR and SR technologies for the upcoming era. As part of VSL, you will learn and contribute in these new areas while collaborating with other team members on our team.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Working toward MS or PhD. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, 3D Design, Imaging Science, Computer Graphics, or a related field with a strong emphasis and interest in video and graphics
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python and Linux
• Working knowledge of modern graphics pipelines and/or game engines (e.g., Unreal, Vulcan)
• Experience with deep learning and dataset creation is a plus
• Experience with computer vision and pattern recognition is a plus
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills; ability to prototype quickly
• A team-oriented work ethic, and ability to work under minimal supervision

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
