Job Description

Position Summary

• Research detection mechanisms for attacks on wireless network environment and endpoint devices, such as IoT devices and smartphones.
• Research scalable algorithms for data analysis and correlation on cluster computing environment.
• Develop proof-of-concept (PoC) for potential vulnerabilities, attack detection, and prevention methods.
• Research adversarial machine-learning attacks and countermeasures applied to image recognition, speech recognition, and intrusion detection systems.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Research detection mechanisms for attacks on wireless network environment and endpoint devices, such as IoT devices and smartphones.
• Research scalable algorithms for data analysis and correlation on cluster computing environment.
• Develop proof-of-concept (PoC) for potential vulnerabilities, attack detection, and prevention methods.
• Research adversarial machine-learning attacks and countermeasures applied to image recognition, speech recognition, and intrusion detection systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in software that is being developed
• Create intellectual property, such as papers and patents, present conference papers, and give presentations.
• Share information, help coworkers, and mentor junior members.

Main requirements:

• Proven 7+ years of experience working with information security in industry and/or academic environment.
• Strong knowledge of Python, Java, or C/C++ programming languages
• Strong knowledge of machine-learning algorithms and libraries (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, R, Matlab).
• Strong knowledge with network and endpoint security.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating system.
• Strong knowledge of Android operating system.
• Knowledge of adversarial machine learning.

Language requirements:

• Written and verbal fluency in English and Portuguese.
• Korean fundamentals (desirable).

Education degree:

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related areas.
• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related areas (desirable).

Skills and Qualifications

Optional requirements:

• PhD in network security, machine-learning, adversarial attacks, or related areas.
• Proven track record of publications in international conferences and journals.
• Experience with intrusion detection/prevention technologies.
• Experience with techniques for audio signal processing, voice-to-text learning, image recognition, and/or voice identification.
• Knowledge of cloud based data analytics platforms.
• Experience with Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC), Agile software development, software management, and version control tools.
• Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP stack and IEEE 802.11 family) and application-layer protocols (e.g. DNS, HTTP, DHCP, SSH).
