The Vice-President, Applied AI Experts - Americas is the leader of all customer-facing teams delivering expertise, pre-sales and professional services responsibilities to DataRobot’s prospects and customers. In this role, you will directly report to the SVP, Solutions & Services and manage a team of leaders, including cross-functional regional leaders. You will need to show strong leadership to develop, refine, and execute the go-to-market strategy to improve the quality and velocity of sales opportunities; you will also contribute to sales and delivery of professional services across your geography and support technical engagement within strategic clients. The Applied AI Experts organization you will lead is a cross-functional team of employees including Customer Facing Data Scientists, AI Strategists, and AI Engineers/Architects. As part of this role, you will be working very closely with Sales leaders and Customer Success leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, assess, and develop managers and individual contributors to meet DataRobot pre-sales and professional services hiring plans in your region
  • Define performance standards for the various roles in your organization
  • Retain top talent and implement development plans for employees that fail to meet standards
  • Attain or exceed fiscal sales targets
  • Attain or exceed fiscal net and gross revenue retention goals
  • Attain or exceed professional services sales and delivery targets
  • Own, delegate, or participate as a stakeholder in key strategic initiatives that directly support incremental and gross retention of ARR. These may include:
  • Work with partners;
  • Tech alliance partners;
  • Internal Product initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Plan:

  • Responsible for the development and management of pre-sales go-to-market execution in the Americas.
  • Responsible for the development and management of professional services delivery and strategy in the Americas.
  • Responsible for the development and management of professional services budget and operating plan in the Americas.
  • Support development of sales strategy, including pre-sales best practices, working jointly with the sales team.
  • Support development of renewal strategy, working jointly with the Customer Success Management team.
  • Support development of operations and administrative strategy.
  • Advise members of the Executive Leadership Team on matters related to Applied AI professional services, sales efficiency, and broader market trends.

Execute:

  • Responsible for qualification of strategic and non-standard sales opportunities.
  • Responsible for pricing, staffing, and resourcing of professional services engagements across all regions in your geography, in charge of approving non-standard services pricing and engagements.
  • Responsible for staffing and resourcing of pre-sales services engagements across all regions in your geography, working collaboratively with Sales leaders.
  • Responsible for setting and complying with performance standards in professional services engagements across all regions in your geography.
  • Support renewal and expansion opportunities in all strategic and non-standard accounts across all regions in your geography, working collaboratively with the Customer Success Management leaders.
  • Support Product feedback and roadmapping efforts by capturing and prioritizing feedback from the team about the DataRobot AI platform, supporting escalations and collaborating effectively with Product leadership,

Lead:

  • Responsible for the ongoing training and development of all team members, including first-line managers.
  • Responsible for rewarding outstanding performance and addressing substandard performance.
  • Responsible for leading others within DataRobot, even without direct authority.

Applied AI Expertise:

  • Understands, articulates and influences broad Applied AI topics: AI strategy, Data Science use cases and associated IT architecture.
  • Demonstrates thought leadership in Applied AI technologies and ecosystems, with ideally a proven track record in public speaking.
  • Shows familiarity with Applied Machine Learning key concepts and common solutions, even complex ones.

Supports DataRobot development:

  • Attains/codifies domain knowledge by driving thought leadership across product, success and Go-To-Market.
  • Participates in product entrepreneurship: Leads initiatives to enhance the Data-Robot product and services delivery.

Desired Experience:

  • 10+ Years in SaaS customer success/services, preferably in a high-growth environment
  • 5+ Years in cross-functional leadership roles
  • 15+ Years experience in advanced analytics/applied data science or AI strategy
