ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performance Insights and Process Improvement
  • Support the annual PROCUREMENT operating planning process.
  • Partner with Working Capital team to drive best practices (e.g., critical business payment process, global payment run timing, dynamic discounting, etc.) into Pfizer’s management of payables.
  • Lead execution of total cost reduction initiatives through the identification, development and execution of aligned strategic sourcing and negotiations.
  • Lead evaluation of supplier performance through establishing KPIs and SLAs, Supplier Performance Reporting scorecards in support of Drive for Cash working capital.
  • Collaborate with leaders from cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, operations, and IT, to develop and implement data-driven sourcing strategies that align with business goals and priorities.
  • Oversee creation of reports and dashboards to be built to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and the performance of the sourcing function that highlight potential areas of improvement and success.
  • Set objectives for developing analytics insights and recommendations to respective stakeholders, using data visualization tools and storytelling techniques that the team creates to facilitate understanding and decision-making.
  • Provide inputs on external benchmarking and industry research exercises to identify best practices and emerging trends in sourcing analytics and to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the sourcing function.
  • Lead the activities on reporting support across PROCUREMENT budget captain teams (e.g., spend reporting)
  • Lead the presentation of reports to senior management.

For budget and working capital

  • Manage centralized PROCUREMENT expense & working capital data infrastructure.
  • Global Townhall content and slide presentation support
  • Provide guidance and apply knowledge of common methodologies, tools, and templates on spend analytics (category profiles, analysis models, etc.)
  • Co-Lead development of methodologies and processes for common reporting needs, project portfolio monitoring, and spend infrastructure management.
  • Provide inputs on developing and implementing data governance policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of sourcing data.

Working Capital & Budget Management

  • Engage budget captains to develop an annual plan of action, including reporting on monthly budget variances, and communicate with critical stakeholders on budget adherence.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance Procure-to-Pay processes and tools in order to better manage cash flow.
  • Define, monitor, summarize, and distribute Procurement expense and rebate budget variances, review working capital performance as needed, and take appropriate steps to address any issues.
  • Lead the effort to track and monitor open and filled head count positions.
  • Monitor and support working capital best practices and trends (e.g., global critical business payment process, payables calendar, adoption to Pfizer payment term standards, dynamic discounting, etc) into Pfizer’s management of payables.
  • Partner with working capital team to continuously improve Pfizer’s global cash flow position, with primary focus on accounts payables management.
  • Partner with the budget captains to develop an annual plan of action for their respective leaders' budget, including WAPOT.
  • Partner with Finance, the finance platform DaViD, and understand the drivers of actuals as reported.
  • Track and measure talent management metrics
  • Engage PROCUREMENT senior leaders, as required to communicate and align critical stakeholder support for budget and WAPOT variances.
  • Support other PROCUREMENT initiatives as needed.

People Leadership

  • Manage budget captains governance model to enable strategic decision making to direct manager, Sourcing Leadership and Chief Procurement Officer
  • People Management responsibility the global Procure to Pay working capital team quarterly communication process, payment run calendar, critical business payment process, critical vs non-critical vendor governance process, and steer this team towards goals that align with Corporate Treasury Drive for Cash initiatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business, Corporate Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools
  • Strong analytical skills, experience working with data, and a deep understanding of procurement and working capital
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional leaders
  • Strong business operations acumen
  • High level of detail-orientation with an ability to produce high-quality, timely outcomes
  • Flexible to changing priorities and comfortable in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • English language fluency
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Experience

  • Typical Years of Experience: 7+ years of experience in procurement or finance supporting role (6+ yrs for MBA/MS)
  • Experience working with diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Experience with presentation storyboarding and facilitation skills to drive data-driven decisions and influence stakeholders
  • Experience of conducting data analysis and market research to identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Track record of success in forming business relationships

Knowledge

  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging analytical methods related to sourcing and procurement
  • Understanding of category-specific considerations to help shape analytics & data-driven decision making
  • Knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sourcing activities and supplier performance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or Master’s degree in data science, strategy, management, or related field is a plus
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience building end to end solutions to performance measurement and process improvement

Work Location Assignment: Hybrid - must be able to work 2.5 days in office per week

Relocation support available

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $131,200.00 to $212,200.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. The annual base salary for this position in Tampa, FL ranges from $114,600.00 to $191,000.00.
