Job Description

What you’ll Do

  • Create compelling technical research and best practices for the implementation and management of data systems, such as data warehouse, data lake, lakehouse, data integration, DataOps, and data engineering.
  • Future proof and Modernize data management environments against new emerging and disruptive technologies, such as Data Fabric, Data Mesh, machine-learning enabled automation, and knowledge-graphs.
  • Execute data management programs in the context of cloud migration plans and extensive data & analytics strategies.
  • Influence with your understanding of best practices and add impact by detecting emerging practices and trends in your field or research.
  • Identify critical questions facing Gartner clients and craft appropriate research methods and participate in client calls to address them.
  • Create and deliver high value presentations off the back of the body of research over time.
  • Conduct research and produce innovative, thought-leading, impactful, analytically deep, fact-based research analysis.
  • Assist the Sales organization in selling and retention on any topic covered by the Analyst's team.
  • Provide high quality and timely research peer review. 
  • Lead or participate in research community meetings to discuss research issues and collaborate effectively with peers.

What You’ll Need

  • More than 12 years of experience in the field of data management.
  • Significant hands-on technical experience in Data Management and Data Engineering.
  • Exceptional analytical skills: Proven experience creating conceptual models, recognizing patterns, and drawing and defending conclusions.
  • You bring a deep understanding of both technology and industry to include the market, vendors, products, and user strategies in specific areas.
  • Previously held a leadership role within the business or technology field.
  • Familiarity with Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO) initiatives, goals, objectives, and business value ROI.
  • Strong written and verbal proficiency; Articulate and succinct communication skills; ability to explain complex ideas effectively.
  • Proven experience in presenting to clients at events and conferences, performing workshops and briefings.
  • Very strong team-working ethos.
  • Strong project planning and management skills.
