Job Description

  • A Sr. Specialist within our QUADS (Quantitative Analytics & Data Science) area, is responsible for developing, supporting, and executing strategic research that is fueled by intensive data collection and in-depth quantitative analysis techniques. This role engages in all aspects of insight generation, including generating hypotheses, designing surveys, managing data collection, conducting descriptive and predictive analysis, and communicating insights, in partnership with other experts in Gartner. The role provides excellent exposure to a full range of topics related to the management of Supply Chain and associated business functions (Procurement, Logistics, Quality) as well as the opportunity to apply and further develop statistical concepts in research.

    What you’ll do:

    • Dissect problems using qualitative and quantitative research and analysis skills, inductive and deductive reasoning, abstract thinking, and root-cause analysis
    • Collaborate on new-to-world quantitative research workstreams, including hypothesis generation, survey modeling and design, and other data collection techniques
    • Analyze large data sets using advanced statistical techniques to identify actionable insights for senior executives
    • Convert research and data analysis results into clear narratives and visually- compelling presentations designed to teach ideas to clients and stakeholders
    • Develop and share research findings verbally and in presentation form to qualitative stakeholders in a concise and compelling manner.
    • Collaborate with qualitative research and supply chain subject matter experts to identify areas where data/quantitative analysis can play a role in strengthening Gartner’s research

    What you’ll need:

    • Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree (preferred) in an analytics-heavy field (e.g., Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Applied Statistics, Policy Analysis, etc.)
    • 2-4 years of work experience in academic or applied research
    • Expertise in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to identify relevant findings
    • Expertise with a statistical package (e.g., SPSS, R, Python, etc.) for advanced analytics (e.g., multivariate regressions, logistic regressions, cluster and factor analysis, etc.)
    • Working knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI) preferred

    Who you are:

    • An analytical thinker with the ability to gather, analyze, restructure, identify and create original insights from qualitative and/or quantitative data
    • A confident communicator with the ability to teach and relay ideas to audiences with limited quantitative expertise
    • Experienced in the practical application of survey design and statistical methods
    • Strong track record for independently creating work and analysis plans, meeting deadlines, handling simultaneous projects, and managing work under ambiguity/uncertainty (e.g., changing factors, limited information)
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality results

    Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 68,800 USD - 96,600 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
