Job Description

Gartner QUADS (Quantitative Analytics & Data Science) build and develop tools and models to assist our global base of analysts and advisors in creating must-have research for our clients. QUADS use a broad range of data science techniques to distill data from various sources and to synthesize fit-to-task models and tools. QUADS focus on combining natural curiosity and ability to innovate with strong execution on projects.

A Senior Principal QUADS will work with analysts and advisors to create impactful fact-based insights about technology markets.

We are looking for a candidate with hands-on experience with explorative analytics – both in terms of development of new models and tools, as well as harvesting new insights around facts and trends through creative application of state-of the-art data science techniques. We offer an opportunity to work as part of a global data science team, that enables our analysts and advisors to deliver various types of client deliverables driven by quantitative models and data driven insights.

What you will do:

  • Create impactful new content for client deliverables through creative application of appropriate data science principles
  • Apply critical thinking skills to create analytical frameworks and models
  • Identify how insights can be obtained using different data sources and analytical approaches
  • Develop and implement models and tools as part of an orchestrated portfolio on a common platform – e.g. buying behavior forecasts based on discrete choice models
  • Work with analysts and advisors to identify needs for and offer operational support of models and tools.
  • Participate in research community meetings to discuss research issues and work effectively with peers
  • Provide high quality and timely peer review on models, data and content

What you will need:

  • Masters's degree or equivalent experience
  • 4-7 years of relevant field or industry experience
  • Structured thinking and problem-solving can-do mindset
  • Learning agility and ability to absorb research methodology
  • Strong and versatile data science skills
  • Experience with Python, SPSS Modeler and Power BI
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning and natural language processing
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Ability to work as a team player, facilitating the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal proficiency
