Head of Innovation and Growth

Wholesale Banking – Digital Innovation

Hang Seng’s Wholesale Banking business provides customized one-stop financial solutions to our corporate customers, from prime small and medium-sized businesses to publicly listed companies.

For customers conducting business locally or around the world, we offer a comprehensive range of services including corporate lending, trade and receivables finance, structured loan, cash management, investment, treasury services, insurance and e-Banking services. As a reliable financial partner, we attend to the specific business needs of our customers and provide efficient tailor-made banking solutions through our relationship managers and dedicated specialists.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Head of Innovation and Growth.

Principal responsibilities

• Drive formulation digital strategy, leveraging on continuous iterative research on external political/ economical/ environmental/ regulatory/ technological changes, digital trends, competition landscape and customer needs;
• Lead the generation of innovative solutions, services and products that are appropriate to meet customer needs and improve customer engagement;
• Connect digital initiatives across Project teams, Products, Marketing, Communications and the Frontline to ensure an integrated commercialization approach on execution;
• Leverage the Bank’s and Open API technology development to create integrated and streamlined user experience with third party platforms;
• Lead an agile team focusing on ecosystem and partnership development on various industry verticals for commercial customers, and expand bank digital presence with growth;
• Work with key global and local stakeholders to define and deliver funding and business proposal, discuss and engage other business opportunities;
• Lead end-to-end partnership management cycle that covers on-boarding, terms negotiation, performance review and commercialization;
• Keep up-to-date knowledge on fintech development both locally and globally and drive innovation and bring in best-fit technology to the bank.

Requirements

• Solid experience (at least 8 years) in digital platform developments in terms of extending the bank’s products and service offerings to digital platforms with partnership building;
• Digital savvy with experience in management consulting, digital strategy, product development / commercialization or e-Commerce;
• Strong influencing skill and stakeholder management skills with consulting ability to influence both internal and external business partners across complex matrix organization;
• Good understanding of emerging and innovative technology (e.g. Open API, digital payment, digital marketing, data science, NLP etc.) and their implication to commercial market, especially in a B2B setting;
• Knowledgeable in banking operations, banking products/ services, ideally in Commercial Banking;
• Accountable, analytical, data-driven, dare to make judgment call and a problem solver;
• Strong business acumen, and the ability to communicate to executives, business domain stakeholders and technical staff alike;
• Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes;
• Could communicate, speak and write, in fluent English and Cantonese/ Putonghua (a plus).
