In line with other HSBC businesses, Asset Management (AM) has embarked upon a significant change programme focused on Data. Analytics & Data Science capabilities and ongoing investment in the Data Science platform are crucial components in achieving the Data and wider AM strategies.
The Data Science team are fully operational on Google Cloud, benefitting from the latest technology from a leading Analytics vendor as well as using third party tools where relevant. All core data services have been ingested and new sources are being uploaded regularly. Analytics & Data Science initiatives are inflight across all areas of AM, including Sales, Investment, Operations, Finance and Risk. This candidate will have the opportunity to support and learn about many functions within an Asset Manager.
Initiatives range from data engineering, through visualisation, and the team are now starting to use machine learning to solve business problems. A particular focus in 2022 was the creation of an ESG Data Service to make AM a thought leader in sustainable investing and a pre trading analytics platform. In 2023 we continue this work but extend our engagement with Alternatives, a growing Asset Class within industry and in AM.

The role holder will join an expanding Data Science team in Bangalore within the AM Data & Analytics Office (DAO) and be expected to build relationships across AM, at all levels. Within the HSBC Group they will work with Cloud and Data Science colleagues and technology teams.
