ROLE:

AMD is looking for an engineering leader to drive AI compiler algorithms and infrastructure to get the best performance of key AI models on AMD client, server, and Versal products for AI applications. In this role, the candidate will drive the roadmap for AI compiler infrastructure using state-of-the-art techniques and programming models for driving high-efficiency AI application mapping to AMDs adaptive silicon products. You are someone who has insight into AI model trends and mapping them onto AI accelerators. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the latest and rapidly evolving hardware and software technologies for AI.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in developing and shipping compilers for AI accelerators for a broad range of AI networks/models and can communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop AI compilers in the context of one or more AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, TVM, MLIR
  • Understanding of tiling, scheduling, memory allocation and graph optimizations in the context of AI models
  • Part of AMD’s AI solution development team focused on improving the customer experience of current products and developing new groundbreaking AMD technologies
  • Stay informed of the software and hardware trends and innovations, especially in AI algorithms and HW architecture.
  • Drive product initiatives for efficient and scalable AI solutions, including the development of early and accurate assessment of mapping AI models to our architectures 
  • Develop technical relationships with peers and partners. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong background in AI compiler technology and software engineering practices
  • Proven track record of working on frameworks and delivering solutions for AI accelerators
  • Grasp of trends in AI models for data center and consumer applications and their mapping to AI accelerators and ability to build performance estimators
  • Strong understanding of the implementation of key ML operations like GEMM, CONV
  • Understanding of the flow of AI model optimization techniques like quantization, sparsity, etc.
  • Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub), and profilers
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
