COMPUTER ARCHITECT (PERFORMANCE PROJECTION-AI/ML)

THE ROLE: 

We are recruiting outstanding engineers with a passion for Machine Learning & AI to lead the definition and specification of AMD next-generation architectures. PhD/MSc-qualified engineers, with a strong background in architectures for AI/ML, mathematical modelling and performance projections, will be at the forefront of identifying, specifying and developing new architectures for machine learning and how they will impact AMD next-generation products.

You will join a team whose architecture and systems activities cover a wide range of disciplines including machine learning for data center (HPC) and embedded computing applications; emerging memory technologies; on-chip interconnects; specification, modelling and analysis of modern heterogeneous multicore architectures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Definition, specification and mathematical modelling of the heterogenous multi-core architectures
  • Creating and using architecture performance projection tools to shape next-generation devices for target application scenarios
  • Applying strong software engineering skills to implement/improve performance optimization techniques to be integrated into performance projection tool flows
  • Provide results/reports that drive the specification of the next-generation architectures
  • Technical interaction with internal engineering teams and AMD customers

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • PhD/MS/BS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Strong mathematical skills on optimization techniques (e.g., linear programming)
  • Strong background in using optimization libraries and solvers (e.g., PuLP, CBC, Gurobi)
  • Strong C/C++ programming experience and scripting skills (python/shell)
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
