We are looking for a Data Scientist. The ideal candidate is strong team member who thrives as a leader. WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

The Experience Research & Analytics team relentlessly improves the consumer experience by delivering productive qualitative and quantitative insights across all Nike Direct touchpoints. We are a multi-disciplinary team with data scientists, analysts, and researchers across both embedded squads and centers of excellence. We partner with product managers, engineers, designers and many other partners across Nike.com, Nike App, SNKRS, NTC, NRC and Nike Stores to build and optimize experiences that are distinctly Nike and serve the needs of the consumer.

WHAT WILL YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES BE?

  • Act as an ongoing thought partner and strategic advisor to product partners to ensure insights are being interpreted and successfully applied
  • Identify & Define Key Performance Indicators, in close partnership with product teams
  • Apply quantitative methods including but not limited to descriptive analysis univariate and multivariate tests, statistical modeling etc. to find opportunities to optimize consumer’s digital experience
  • Partner with data scientists and researchers, bringing comprehensive insights to influence and drive product strategy
  • Influence and deliver against your domain’s roadmap - field requests, prioritize against business needs, and define delivery timelines

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE:

  • Advanced quantitative degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field or relevant combination of education experience and training.
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical approach.
  • Ability to think creatively with data, formulate and get tractions around new ideas, and bring a new point of view to business and engineering partners.
  • Experience in implementing digital optimization including A/B and multivariate tests, analysis and business reviews.
  • Able to influence and communicate successfully, both verbally and written, with team members, business partners and leadership.
  • Experience working with real-world, structured and unstructured data.
  • Ability to complete work in multiple data environments involving complex joins, data cleaning, and feature creation using SQL or SQL based languages (Hive).
  • Demonstrated skill to work with analytics toolkits on large data sets.
  • Excellent communications skills, in particular, the ability to communicate technical content to general audience in presentation and meeting format.
  • Prior experience synthesizing and packaging sophisticated analyses and delivering results to non-technical audiences including senior leadership teams.
  • Able to quickly pick up new programming languages, technologies, and frameworks.
  • In-depth background in mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and to multi-task across different functions of the business, and switch work streams and handle many different levels of requests.
  • Passion for the consumer experience, ideally at the intersection of digital, retail and sports.
  • Proven impact to digital products and/or retail experiences as a result of your analysis.
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills – you find clear and compelling ways to communicate rich customer insights to multi-functional partners with clear implications that drive action
