WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking a passionate Data Analytics Manager I to build Nike’s North America data and analytics foundation, directly benefiting our business partners and our Consumers. You are self-motivated and data curious - especially about how data can be used to optimize business opportunities. As a manager, you will contribute on a multi-functional squad that owns product development from conception to operationalization. In this role, you will show a comprehensive understanding of the full data product development life-cycle and use various analytical techniques to solve sophisticated problems. Your contributions will support scalable data architecture and deliver data products that enhance decision-making across Nike’s functions. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to collaborate on large scale, analytics projects with minimal direction, be highly proficient in SQL, has good communication skills, and takes the initiative to explore and solve problems.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

You’ll be working with the North America Consumer Insights and Analytics (NACIA) Team, and with your teammates be part of an empowered, highly-capable team collaborating with Nike Direct Analytics, Demand and Supply Management, Marketing Analytics, and Consumer teams to deliver on Nike’s business priorities through researching, analyzing and implementing scalable data product solutions that power analytics across the enterprise.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate on the development and execution of reporting and analytics products across a focused area of the Nike business value stream to enable data driven business decisions that will drive performance and accomplish annual goals.

  • Translate sophisticated business problem statements into analysis requirements, and work with internal customers to define data product details based on expressed partner needs.

  • Document systems/analytics solutions to the business, translating complex functionality into business relevant language.

  • Independently support end-to-end analysis to inform product strategy, data architecture, and reporting decisions.

  • Drive the solving of sophisticated data problems using analytical and statistical rigor.

  • Develop SQL queries and data visualizations to fulfill ad-hoc analysis requests and ongoing reporting needs.

  • Thoroughly document business requirements, data architecture solutions, business processes and training material for business and technical audiences.

  • Develop frameworks for repeatable validation of data integrity within back-end data assets and data products, supporting accurate and consistent results.

  • Discuss the data products with end users through user training to help drive adoption.

  • Monitor and solve operational or data issues in the data pipelines.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

This role is part of a team of highly-successful Data Analysts in our NACIA Reporting and Data Enablement team and will work closely with Product Owners, Data Engineers, and Visualization Developers. As a team, we collaborate with our Commercial Analytics peers as well as our Enterprise Data & Analytics group to deliver best-in-class data and reporting products. Our team partners with others that manage both Global and Geo specific teams to develop enterprise-wide solutions that unlocks data across the organization. This role reports to a Manager of Data Analytics, on the Reporting and Data Enablement Team.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING?

REQUIRED ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Computer Science or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in omnichannel/digital commerce, reporting and analytics, or supply chain.

  • Experience working directly with business partners to form a deep understanding of their business needs and partnering cross-functionally to develop solutions for broad use.

  • Experience with all steps of the analytic process from requirements gathering, solution design, QA, debugging, and documentation. Experience in data profiling, data quality, and root cause analysis.

  • Experience translating business objectives and questions into data architecture, critical metrics, and reporting requirements.

  • Prior experience with data architecture, defining and maintaining data assets, and developing data architecture strategies to support reporting and data visualization tools.

  • Ability to communicate analysis results and subsequent impact to technical/non-technical audiences in both verbal and written form.

  • Prior data visualization experience in tools such as Tableau, Cognos, PowerBI, Python/R libraries, or similar tools.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL or similar programs with experience building and maintaining SSAS tabular cubes.

  • Proficiency with cloud environments such as Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS.

  • Working understanding of Agile methodologies and principles such as Scrum, LEAN, Kanban, and how they’re applied in workplace.


PREFERRED ABILITIES:

  • Basic experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python and source code control tools like GitHub.
  • Experience with statistical packages such as PYTHON, R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, or Stata and workflow scheduling tools like Airflow.

  • Expertise in data warehousing, dimensional modeling and the ability to bring standard methodologies regarding data management, ETL, API integrations, and data governance
