WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for data scientists with industry experience and a passion for understanding consumer behavior. The role requires both the mathematical rigor to develop predictive and descriptive models as well as the creativity to identify new opportunities to bring value through data-driven insights and innovation. The candidate should have a history of collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, delivering work on time against a roadmap, and sharing their work with non-technical audiences. A bias for action, an entrepreneurial spirit, and demonstrated ability to work in a rapidly changing environment are also essential.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role, you will apply contemporary data science and analytics methods to

• Extract consumer preferences and tendencies from event streams
• Develop algorithms to target and reward our most deserving members
• Predict which consumers and how many are likely to want to purchase upcoming footwear and apparel
• Create models and simulations to understand marketplace dynamics
• Design and analyze experiments to illuminate causality
• Lead research and analysis to inform business strategy
• Build stakeholder-facing tools to support decision-making
• Create clear and structured work to clearly communicate significant insights to a non-technical audience

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As part of the SNKRS + NBHD Data Science and Analytics team, you will be working with other data scientists and analysts as well as a diverse range of multi-functional business partners. The team is in Nike’s Direct Analytics org and Insights function.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Business, Psychology, Economics, and/or related field or any combination of equivalent education, experience, and training.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in analytics or data science
• Experience working with real-world, large data sets (>100GB)
• Ability to work in multiple data environments and perform complex joins, data cleaning, and feature creation using SQL or SQL-based languages (e.g., Hive)
• Significant experience coding in Python
• Demonstrable experience building positive working relationships in multi-functional teams, including demonstrated success in managing through influence.
• Track record of owning high-impact work from idea to delivery
• Ability to manage work and requirements delivered on time and accurately.
• Plus: advanced degree in quantitative field
• Plus: experience creating data products and dashboards (e.g., in Tableau)
• Plus: passion for Nike sneakers and streetwear culture.

This role can be based out of Beaverton or NYC
