Job Description

As a Sr Product Delivery Lead on the Data & Analytics Capabilities and Innovation team, you’ll will be working in a fast-paced, agile, startup-like environment partnering with engineering, designers, internal and external data publishers, data consumer and product managers to successfully go from early-stage prototypes to launch. You’ll accelerate the value our data marketplace drives by achieving maximum efficiency, scale and time to insight by making our data assets easily discoverable and searchable by both analysts and machines. This is an influential data-centric business role within a fast-growing area with broad scope to design and shape our data product offerings and analytics community experience

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the functional teams (analysts, data science, software engineering, database engineering, application management, etc.) to ensure end-to-end delivery of the product, identifying and managing dependencies and/or opportunities for collaboration while following core Agile principles.
  • Work with key stakeholders in analytics, business, and technology to deliver leading edge innovation with the customer and the business impact in mind
  • Support analysts through our feedback channels to ensure their success, and use information gathered influence our product roadmap.
  • Ensure adoption of the product by staying hyper focused on the needs of our user community, evangelizing the benefits of the Data Marketplace
  • Employ data analytics to measure the success of the product; establish a framework and operating model to continue ensuring the quality of the product over time
  • Vigilantly follow Chase’s data use, privacy, legal, and compliance guidelines as well as be a contributor to the firm’s enhancement of data governance, use, and management principles and tools

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 5+ years combined experience in a data analytics technical related product development and delivery function with strong technical skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline relevant to analytics
  • Strong project management skills – the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work requirements to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting
  • Outcome oriented – ability to stay focused on features that drive the highest ROI for the marketplace users and stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of how data and analytics are performed and used to drive value
  • Knowledge of modern forms of product planning, customer discovery, product discovery, and product development processes
  • Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative
  • Driven, with an entrepreneurial spirit

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Ecommerce marketplace experience are a huge plus

As a researcher, you will collaborate with a distributed team of outstanding academics, engineers, and investment professionals to develop methodologies for products solving a corporate-wide set of client, investor, and operational problems. Products developed often use multiple subject areas, including statistics, machine learning, and optimization, and combine original methods with pioneering solutions available in industry and academia. You will be responsible for the entire research lifecycle, from initial research and prototyping, to iterating on the system methodology, to detailing the final product and clearing internal review processes.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into well-scoped technical projects.
  • Efficiently work well with large and sophisticated datasets to evaluate technical methodologies.
  • Rapidly prototype technical solutions implementing groundbreaking tools from optimization and machine learning.
  • Produce technical whitepapers and make clear technical presentations to senior management.
  • Work with engineers and stakeholders to build productionalized solutions that are reliable, scalable, and operate in compliance with firm-wide processes.

Qualifications

  • Either a PhD in a quantitative subject area (computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, physics, engineering, or related field), or
  • An MS degree in a quantitative field plus 3+ years of professional experience in optimization, machine learning, statistics, exploratory data analysis, and other aspects of the data science process
  • Strong theoretical background in and practical experience using optimization, statistical techniques, and machine learning, preferably shown through academic publications or open-source codebases.
  • Strong familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Julia, or R.
  • Experience with the analysis or application of data in finance, economics, sociology, or related fields is a plus.

For California only the salary range for this position is $157,500 – $214,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
