Job Description

As an experienced engineer, you know that machine learning is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to conduct statistical analyses on business processes using ML techniques makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. We need your technical knowledge and desire to problem-solve to support an advanced study into the complexities of security cooperation within the cyber environment. As a machine learning engineer on our national security team, you’ll train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data.

In this role, you’ll lead the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and introducing leading-edge technologies. You’ll share your knowledge with a large community of machine learning engineers across the firm and collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to deliver world class solutions that guide the development of front and back end AI/ML applications. Your advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise will guide clients as they navigate the landscape of ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks.

You will apply advanced consulting skills, extensive technical expertise, and industry knowledge. You will also be requested to help shape team direction and must be able to work without considerable direction. This includes mentoring and supervising team members.

You Have:

  • 15+ years of experience with artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning engineering, modeling and simulation, software development, or data engineering in either a research or professional role
  • Experience with infrastructure configuration, including CICD workflows, Argo CD for workflow management, Terraform for infrastructure management, and GitHub Actions
  • Experience with leading ModSim, software development or artificial intelligence projects and with full-stack development
  • Experience with languages, including Python, Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, and SQL and front- and back-end tools and frameworks, including React, NGINX, FastAPI, Airflow, and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with infrastructure provisioning and management using cloud platforms and tools, including AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Experience with database management and SQL queries
  • Ability to gather requirements from customers and lead Agile teams
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Security+ certification
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience doing workforce ModSim or planning
  • Experience with integrating AI or ML capabilities into software architecture design
  • Experience with AI or ML tools and frameworks, including TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Experience with AI concepts and tooling to support deep learning, machine learning, signal processing, and natural language processing
  • Experience with producing technical documentation and designs
  • Experience with testing and quality assurance
  • Experience with GPU-programming, including CUDA or RAPIDs
  • Knowledge of modern software design patterns, including microservice design
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $121,200.00 to $275,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
