Job Description

As a data engineer, you have the chance to develop and deploy the pipelines and platforms that make this data meaningful. What’s more, you’ll have the chance to grow Booz Allen’s DataOps capabilities while working with a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, data scientists, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. We’re looking for someone like you to ensure our clients meet their mission by improving the Sailor experience in the Navy. 

This is an opportunity to support data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. Driving the data portion of an Enterprise IT Transformation, you’ll have the chance to architect data system vision, ETL pipeline strategy, and data model standards. From performing analytical exploration and examination of data to leading the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms, you’ll guide your clients to solve their most pressing challenges. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely.

You Have:

• 7+ years of experience with data architecture or data engineering
• Experience with DoD data architecture
• Experience working with data leveraging cloud capabilities, including AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with client-facing project work or professional consulting
• Knowledge of enterprise transformation initiatives
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with applying big data concepts in a data lake
• Experience with Databricks or Delta Lake
• Experience with big data tools, including Apache Spark or Hadoop, and working with structured and unstructured data
• Possession of excellent client-facing or consulting skills
• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Master's degree
• Big Data Engineer or Data Architecture Certification
