Job Description

As a data engineer, you have the chance to develop and deploy the pipelines and platforms that make this data meaningful. What’s more, you’ll have the chance to grow Booz Allen’s DataOps capabilities while working with a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, data scientists, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment.

This is an opportunity for you to support our data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. Working with clients such as the Air Force and NASA, you’ll have the chance to architect data systems, stand up data platforms, build out ETL pipelines, interface with data stores, build data models, and much more. From performing analytical exploration and examination of data to leading the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms, you’ll guide your clients to solve their most pressing challenges. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely.

You Have:

• 4+ years of experience with Big Data technologies including Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Cassandra, or Zeppelin
• 4+ years of experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with full data processing pipeline from ingestion, transformation, storage, analysis, and visualization
• Knowledge of ETL tools including NiFi, Dagster, or AirFlow
• Ability to work independently and define project objectives and milestones
• Ability to communicate data engineering issues and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to collaborate effectively with data managers, data scientists and solutions architects
• Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with data science tools such as Python, R, Jupyter
• Experience with data platforms such as Databricks or the IBM Watson Data Platform
• Top Secret Clearance
• Master's degree
