We have an opportunity for you to use your analytical skills to improve the way healthcare is delivered at the Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as extend access to quality healthcare for Veterans nationwide. You’ll work closely with your client to understand their questions and needs, and then utilize understanding of the intersection of data science and healthcare delivery to provide actionable insights to Healthcare Operations and Clinical SMEs. You’ll work to rapidly identify relevant data sources, assess fitness for the problem at hand, analyze gaps, and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn that set of disparate data points into objective answers to help VA leadership make informed decisions. You’ll provide your client with a deep understanding of their data, what it all means, and how they can use it. Join us as we use data science for good in the healthcare industry. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining
  • 2+ years of experience with analyzing and applying insights from healthcare data
  • Experience with building and tuning algorithms, including using common data cleaning and machine learning techniques
  • Experience with developing algorithms and leveraging R, Python, or SQL
  • Experience with visualization packages, including Power BI
  • Ability to work independently or in a team to derive insights from unstructured healthcare data and effectively communicate those insights to operational and clinical SMEs
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with developing predictive data models, quantitative analyses, and visualization of targeted data sources
  • Knowledge of common data management and data infrastructure tools and techniques
  • Ability to take the initiative and a proactive problem-solving approach
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including explaining analyses to a variety of audiences to communicate project goals, plans, and progress
  • Possession of excellent follow-up skills
  • Master’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
