What you’ll do:

The Centre for Intelligent Power (CIP) is dedicated to providing cutting-edge data-driven solutions powered by data science, AI, and ML technologies. The Director of Portfolio Management is a key leader with the CIP, driving strategy and delivery through a team of Portfolio Managers responsible for advanced data analytics solutions across diverse sectors in manufacturing, utilities, oil and gas, buildings, and more.

The Director of Portfolio Management will be at the forefront of the product development strategy, working with teams that are transforming raw sensor data into actionable insights through innovative data science, AI, and ML projects. This leadership role entails aligning business needs with delivery projects, strategising, overseeing, and optimizing the portfolio management process to ensure the successful execution of data analytics projects across multiple industry-specific business divisions.

• Develop and execute a comprehensive business-aligned portfolio strategy.
• Lead and mentor a team of Portfolio Managers, providing guidance, support, and fostering a culture of excellence.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, domain experts, and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment and successful execution of portfolio projects.
• Prioritize and allocate resources effectively across projects based on strategic value, market demand, and business priorities.
• Implement best practices in portfolio management, project selection, resource allocation, risk assessment, and performance measurement
• Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities and ensure the portfolio remains cutting-edge.
• Drive a culture of innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement within the portfolio management team.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and vendors, fostering collaboration and mutual success.
• Regularly provide senior leadership with updates on portfolio performance, key metrics, challenges, and opportunities.
• Champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring that data analytics solutions meet or exceed client expectations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• 10 years of experience in portfolio management, data science, AI, ML, or related roles, with a proven track record of delivering impactful data analytics projects

Skills:

• Strong understanding of data science, AI, ML methodologies, and their applications in diverse industries.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management and portfolio analysis tools and software.
• Familiarity with sensor data analysis, performance data visualization, and industrial sectors such as manufacturing, utilities, oil and gas, and buildings.
• Certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP).
