Job Description

Eaton’s CRDS Residential Division is currently seeking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Haina facility.

Develop and support software solutions for IoT/Connected devices. Help to identify and evaluate emerging markets and technologies globally; lead project teams in the research, development and industrialization of new innovative products and services.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with software development on multiple platforms, including Windows, OS X, Linux, embedded systems/micro-controllers and web applications with a strong emphasis on the Internet of Things.
• Support a variety of business development projects.
• Stay abreast of market trends and emerging technologies globally, with a particular emphasis on embedded systems, and evaluate their potential impact on Eaton business
• Research and develop business case(s) in new product development cycle to understand viability of proposed product in the marketplace
• Make recommendations regarding new or enhanced product or service offerings based on evaluations of new technologies and innovations aligning with Eaton’s strategic plans
• Represent Eaton’s interests on councils and committees tasked with developing codes and standards for emerging technologies in which Eaton is investing and ensure the most current information is incorporated into prototype designs
• Perform technical evaluations of third-party solutions and assess opportunities for partnerships or supply agreements
• Lead domestic and international project teams assigned to research, design, develop, test and/or launch new innovations; ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Provide timely and accurate data to all project stakeholders; communicate across Eaton business units
• Assist in the development and implementation of product launch strategies for both organic development and partnering endeavors
• Assist in development and implementation of manufacturing strategies for both organic development and partnering endeavors
• Act as a technical advisor to product line managers and/or manufacturing engineers throughout the ProLaunch process
• Act as an advisor and mentor to Engineers and Engineering Interns to assist in the growth and development of new talent within Eaton
• International travel is required

Responsibilities related to Health, Safety and Environment (EHS):

• Execute 100% of monthly safety activities assigned, in coordination with the MESH Coordinator.
• Assist and completed all EHS training as required.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software or a degree in similar course of study at an accredited university
• Prefer: Master’s degree or MBA;
• Professional experience in related roles.
• Bilingual (English / Spanish skills)
• Knowledge of: Knowledge of control/distribution systems and power quality products, industrial protocols (such as Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, DeviceNet, and Ethernet I/P)
• Experience with programing: JavaScript Libraries(Angular/React/Polymer), Python, JAVA, C++, XML, HTML, web applications (object-oriented analysis and design, rapid prototyping, and algorithm development). Cloud experience (AWS, Google Cloud, MS Azure, other)
• Knowledge of IoT systems and mobile Apps development.
