Leidos is seeking a Technical Lead / Full Stack Developer to promote the United States Space Force by developing software in promotion of the Space Systems Command Cyber Operations Branch rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, protect, and react to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats. A successful candidate should be a forerunner and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver exceptional results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Work with the Scaled Agile Framework governance layer participants & stakeholders on program execution.
  • Facilitate allocation of work and new resources to Agile Release Trains.
  • Monitor program performance; resolve impediments; develop and implement solutions for driving improvement.
  • Coordinate schedule execution and plan program-wide software/architecture releases.
  • Lead Program Increment Planning, including logistics and technical preparation.
  • Lead cross-team collaboration in support of development, testing, and deployment efforts.
  • Track the execution of features and capabilities through Metrics across program’s agile and DevOps teams.
  • Brief customers on the development progress throughout the Program Increment Planning cycle on program status, including the status of testing, deployment, and release readiness.
  • Assess skillset needs and collaborate with leadership to staff program openings.
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
  • Promote teamwork to achieve Program Increment Planning goals.
  • Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices.
  • Participating in the design and creation of scalable software.
  • Writing clean, functional code on the front- and back-end.
  • Unit testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues.
  • Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design.
  • Write effective APIs.
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software.
  • Create security and data protection settings.
  • Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design.
  • Write technical documentation.

The Opportunity:

Your development activities at the Cyber Operations Branch program office adhere to Scaled Agile Framework that offers proven, integrated standards, practices, and competencies to implement steer, agile, and DevOps at scale. Additionally, this program office personifies DevSecOps which automates the integration of security at every phase of the software development lifecycle from initial design, through integration, testing, deployment, and software delivery. These development efforts shall result in two deployable defensive cyber solutions to protect, protect, and react to United States Space Force mission systems.

  • Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff.
  • Works on high-visibility or critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties freely.
  • Oversee efforts of less senior staff and accountable for efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
  • Ensure consistent submission of high-quality products to the Government.
  • Convey clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy—oral and written

What Sets You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Twelve or more years (12) of relevant experience performing engineering activities in the Government (military and/or civil servant), federally funded research and development center, or profit or non-profit Government support, or development contractor arena.
  • Scaled Agile Framework for Teams certification is a prerequisite (or ability to obtain).​
  • Background in programming languages (at least 2): C, C++, Java, JavaScript, & Python.
  • Background in the following applications frameworks (at least 2): React, Angular, Python, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets, & HyperText Markup Language, & Material User Interface.
  • Familiarity & knowledge: Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Kafka, SIMP Project, Ansible, Docker, Global Information Tracker, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Suricata, Zeek, Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Search, Neo4J, PostgreSQL, Amazon Web Services Cloud & Nifi.
  • Background or Knowledge in the following Areas: Agile software development, agile methodologies, agile project management, software project management, defensive cyber military operations, software development life cycle management, program/project management, systems engineering, strategic planning, cross-functional team.
  • Ability to supervise up to 9 people.

You Might Also Have:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or STEM related specialty.
  • Relevant DoD and/or Industry work background in Space Systems Command.
  • Background with Cyber Operations Branch (SSC/SZYO) program office.
  • Advisory and Assistance Service, or System Engineering and Technical Assistance to Government program office.
  • Background with Automated Customer Account Transfer Level 1, 2 acquisition programs. 

Clearance Needed:

  • U.S. citizenship with a current DoD Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $118,300.00 - $182,000.00 - $245,700.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
