Job Description

The Data Strategy Advisor will be a subject matter expert for PSPS and will address complex level data issues related to PSPS data elements and reporting. They will be responsible for coordinating and managing the creation, definition, methodology, and calculation of pro-active PSPS data quality improvement efforts through the facilitation of workshops with partners, operational SME’s, and other functions. This position will implement data quality effort projects that have been identified through the PSPS Data Steward or operational needs Lastly the data analyst will support data quality assurance and quality control in coordination with data governance framework of standards, policies, and requirements with accountability and metrics to ensure the access, availability, usability, integrity, security, and regulatory compliance of the company’s data.

  • Facilitate and deliver data quality initiatives and projects
  • Liaison with PSPS governance and multi-functional areas to manage data quality
  • Build out metrics and controls for process governance and data quality improvements
  • Call out and resolve data quality issues for PSPS Data elements
  • Participate in the prioritization of data quality initiatives for PSPS
  • Collaborate with BPOs, SMEs, and project teams to assess intended uses of data and develop/implement data quality rules for core PSPS data systems
  • Implement and/or monitor data quality remediation efforts
  • Collaborate with multi-functional data analysts and other partners on data improvement efforts
  • Accountable for the completion, monitoring, and sustainment of data quality improvement efforts for PSPS
  • Provide guidance on appropriate use of data and analysis techniques to ensure accurate reporting for PSPS
  • Provide recommendations for creation/modification/use of data elements throughout the PSPS lifecycle
  • Continue to enhance data analysis methodology – tools, technology, processes, procedures – to address ongoing data quality needs

Qualifications

The essentials

  • Seven (7) years of experience working with complex and large volumes of data compiling, joining, analyzing, and interpreting data with various tools such as Excel, Access, SAS, etc.
  • Two years of experience in the design, development, and implementation of internal controls
  • Experience facilitating multi-functional teams with a focus on data analysis and management.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Management, or another technical field
  • 2 years of experience in process mapping and/or root cause analysis
  • Knowledgeable of enterprise data systems and relational database concepts
  • Proficient with SAP and/or other core systems of record
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and the ability to analyze complex data problems and create innovative solutions
  • Ability to present complex topics to non-technical staff
  • Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills
  • Ability to influence, collaborate and demonstrate strong facilitative leadership skills

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
