Become a HR Technology, Analytics & Planning Principal Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be a strategic thought partner responsible for managing workforce technologies, analytics and the planning process. You will identify technology improvements and developing team skills required in the future to ensure we have the right technical talent in the right place at the right time. You will leverage people metrics and analytics to advance HR’s performance and agility to drive business performance.

In addition, you will lead efforts to define, develop, and operationalize a coordinated strategy for workforce technologies that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and innovative solutions. You will play a key role in influencing and driving AI and data driven approaches in all HR processes with a greater focus on people analytics and workforce planning that enables the organization to proactively respond to current & future needs. Be a member of a high-impact team and lead cross-functional efforts involving business leaders, HR business partners, finance partners and other key collaborators to develop and lead long-range workforce technology solutions.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Partner with collaborators to analyze business requirements and develop and drive innovative solutions from planning, development, testing through deployment.
  • Be responsible for maintaining, optimizing and securing internal HR databases, code and backup files for integrity.
  • Own the development of analytics and metrics that deliver actionable insights in support of strategic workforce planning.
  • Leverage workforce planning analytics and external benchmarking from niche sources, to identify current state gaps, areas of opportunity, and future workforce trends.
  • Collaborate with IT to perform regular technology assessments and innovative improvements to the existing HR technology landscape.
  • Define, measure and report on key metrics aligned with the enterprise short term and long-term business and workforce strategy. Measure its effectiveness and leverage insights to understand gaps and opportunities that impact organizational effectiveness, hiring and attrition, internal mobility, talent planning and retention.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and developments in data management and security, HR technology, and other ancillary workforce applications.
  • Ensure that all HR technology, databases and configured processes are aligned with existing internal standards and external mandated regulations i.e., CCPA, CCRA, SOX, HIPAA etc.

Qualifications

The essentials

  • Seven or more years of experience managing or supervising a team.
  • Seven years of strategy and planning, consulting, and/or relevant project and program management experience
  • Five years of experience in an IT, database management, HRIS or analytics role.
  • Five years of experience in advanced trend analysis and ability to interpret data and provide recommendations to drive key business decisions.

The preferred 

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Human Resources, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Experience in designing and managing a team of developers to craft innovative HR technology solutions that benefit the enterprise and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with HR technology or in a People Analytics, HRIS, or Workforce Planning function.
  • Experience working with, building requirements for, and improving predictive and forecasting models, scenario planning and AI modeling tools.
  • Lean six sigma certification.
  • SWP or SWPP certification.
  • Experience working with skills-based workforce planning frameworks
  • Solid understanding of HR process flows (position & requisition management, talent/succession planning, compensation planning, leadership/management effectiveness), finance processes as they
  • relate to HR and data impacts these processes generate.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
