Dolby.io is a new developer platform by Dolby Labs that puts decades of Dolby sight and sound technology into the hands of developers to deliver quality in real-time streaming, communications, and media processing solutions — at scale. The platform includes a powerful suite of self-service APIs, SDKs, and sample apps that enable developers to easily deploy real-time streaming services with sub-second latency, integrate audio/video chat functionality into their apps, and add media processing capabilities into existing workflows to enhance the quality of audio and video files. What you will do:

  • Design, develop, and deliver company-wide solutions responsible for managing large volumes of data, with a focus on creating an inclusive and diverse environment.
  • Ensure solutions are developed based on a high-quality, cloud-first scalable architecture that supports the needs and goals of diverse stakeholders.
  • Serve as a senior member of the project scrum team and follow industry best practice software development processes, promoting collaboration and inclusivity.
  • Provide technical mentorship and support for other data platform developers, fostering an environment that encourages the growth and success of all team members, including women.
  • Efficiently handle ambiguity and multiple competing priorities, leveraging strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Actively maintain an awareness of competitive and complementary technologies, including those that support diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Provide input to the team regarding implementation limitations and suggest alternate approaches, considering diverse perspectives and experiences.
  • Create modular, reliable, efficient, and readable code that adheres to Dolby standards, promoting accessibility and inclusivity in coding practices.
  • Produce and maintain accurate design documentation and code comments, ensuring that the knowledge is accessible and understandable to all team members, regardless of their background.
  • Design and implement developer tests to ensure software conforms to requirements, with an emphasis on inclusivity and usability for all users.
  • Effectively manage time to achieve personal and team goals in an agile development environment, recognizing and accommodating the diverse needs and workstyles of team members.
  • Effectively employ written and verbal communications to collaborate with business ownership, product management, engineering, and research team members, fostering an inclusive and respectful communication culture.
  • Demonstrate a positive and ethical work style that values diversity, inclusion, and respect for all team members, promoting a safe and supportive environment.

Key Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable field, with a focus on encouraging and supporting female candidates to apply.
  • 8+ years of solid commercial experience designing and building cloud-based solutions, with an emphasis on inclusivity and diversity.
  • Detailed knowledge of challenges related to the capture and processing of high volumes of data, including Personally Identifiable Information (PII), while adhering to privacy and security standards.
  • Solid understanding of Cloud Architecture, with consideration for diverse workloads and user requirements.
  • Working knowledge of at least one commercial or open-source data pipeline/platform that supports diverse data workflows and integration.
  • Experienced and comfortable working within an Agile Environment, promoting collaboration, transparency, and the empowerment of all team members, regardless of gender.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks in a large project and engage clearly with platform clients, with a commitment to inclusivity and client satisfaction.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills in both general and technology-specific applications, ensuring effective communication and understanding among diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience or solid theoretical understanding of data workflows, including ingestion, batch and stream processing, storage and archiving, visualization/reporting, and dashboards, with consideration for diverse user needs and perspectives.
  • Familiarity with machine learning is a plus, as it opens opportunities for innovation and diverse applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with a focus on fostering inclusivity and diversity in finding solutions.

The Atlanta Area base salary range for this full-time position is $112,800-$137,900 plus bonus, equity, and benefits, and can vary if outside of this location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
