Dolby ATG research division is looking for an AI researcher to join Dolby’s research efforts to develop the next generation of AI based audio and video technologies. The candidate will work with Dolby’s world-class audio and vision experts to invent new multimedia analysis, processing and rendering technologies. As a part of an international team, the senior staff research engineer will work on ideas exploring new horizons in the audio processing, analysis, replay and organization. The researcher is responsible for performing fundamental new research, transfer technology to product groups, and draft patent applications.

Job Responsibilities

• Work closely with other domain experts to refine and execute Dolby’s technical strategy in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
• Use deep learning to create new solutions and enhance existing applications.
• Combine domain knowledge with state-of-the-art deep learning techniques that run on a wide range of computing platforms.
• Push the state-of-the-art and develop intellectual property.
• Advise internal leaders on recent deep learning advancements in the industry and academia to further influence research direction and business decisions.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or master’s with 4 years of experience in Computer Science or similar, with a focus on deep learning.
• Strong publication record, with publications in major machine learning conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, etc.).
• Strong theoretical background in AI technologies.
• Ability to envision new technologies and turn them into innovative products. Creativity.
• Highly skilled in Python and one or more popular deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow or PyTorch).
• Interest in audio/video technologies. Proficiency in theory and application of digital signal processing techniques.
• Highly desired: Deep background in NLP.
• Experience working in a software development team, including software version control tools
• Experience in statistics, decision theory, image retrieval.
• Good communication skills and strong collaboration skills
