Job Description

This is a hybrid position that will have time working both remote and in the office. The reporting corporate office location for this role is in Boston, Dallas or Miami.

The Sr. Specialist, Automation and Data Science Auditor is responsible to design and build repeatable data operations processes to facilitate critical data for the execution of audit projects. The Automation and Data Science Auditor will use advanced analytics and automation technologies to deliver data solutions to the Internal Audit and CRR teams.

Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:

  • Design and build repeatable data operations processes to facilitate critical data to the audit teams.
  • Assesses the completeness, accuracy, validity, and efficiency of information to ensure their “fit for purpose” to the audit teams.
  • Build robotic process automation (RPA) solutions that helps the audit team to automate audit repetitive tasks.
  • Designs and monitors control systems which ensure the integrity and security of data and for advising on the optimal use of the organization's computing resources.
  • Designs and develops statistical models, applies, and interprets validation results to ensure delivery of effective solutions.
  • Supports the management and building of internal and external relationships by serving as a reliable resource in statistical modeling, data, and systems, handling requests and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Establishes and takes accountability towards meeting deadlines and milestones.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

    Work Experience:

  • 3+ years; Data mining/advanced analytics applied to large-scale data-intensive projects.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of SQL programming language and demonstrated experience developing SQL procedures in Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases.
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced statistical packages and data analytics software is required. Python and SAS will be the main tools preferred. In addition, the candidate should have demonstrated experience in data science and programming libraries in Python such Pandas, Flask, SciPy, NumPy, Scikit-learn, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with a data visualization tool, Tableau is preferred. Other tools such PowerBI, Qlik will be positively considered.
  • Knowledge in basic administration task (i.e., file system, Apache Web Server) for Linux systems (i.e., Red Hat Linux) is a plus.
  • Experience building and applying machine learning/predictive modeling in real-world use cases is not mandatory, but desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Strong modeling and data manipulation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong programming capability: ability to solve problems through programming and simulation.
  • Strong understanding of statistical tools and their application to business, as well as principles of cost/benefit analysis, risk management, marketing, collections, and operations.
