Job Description

Sony Research is looking for full-time Research Engineers with passion for Machine Learning, Audio Signal Processing, Intelligent Audio Production, and Deep Generative Modeling. You will join a group of international researchers, engineers and developers working on state-of-the-art solutions for tasks related to AI and audio. The technologies developed by our group are used in entertainment studios around the world and provide creators with impactful and transformative solutions.

You will

• As a Research Engineer, you will work with other members of the team on developing innovative AI-based solutions. You will investigate, develop and apply novel machine learning algorithms that combine Audio Signal Processing and Deep Learning techniques with a strong focus on large scale models for audio understanding.
• You are expected to implement and optimize these algorithms by applying your research, coding, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative environment. You will be supported in your efforts by having access to state-of-the-art resources at Sony.
• You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other Sony research teams and Sony Business Groups such as Sony Music, Sony Pictures, and Sony Interactive Entertainment.

You will bring

• PhD. degree in CS, EE, applied mathematics, or related fields
• Record of relevant scientific publications
• Experience in training large scale models
• Expertise in audio signal analysis, processing, and feature extraction
• Experience cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing large heterogeneous audio datasets
• Experience in maintaining high-quality and well-documented code
• Ability to optimize model architectures and inference pipelines for production
• Proven coding expertise with Python
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch
• Experience with Linux and command line tools
• Experience training and deploying deep learning models on cloud services
• Proven industry experience
• Interest in music & audio production
