Sony AI is looking for a talented Mechatronics engineer to join our Zurich-based team for a 6-month internship. The start date is September 2022.

Job Description

An internship as a Mechatronics, Mechanical or Automation Engineer, for 6 Months. The start date is September 2022.

Roles and Responsibilities

The intern will work in a diverse team to develop and support various mechatronic systems. The role would be to assist our engineers in improving our existing systems, developing new concepts and prototypes, designing, building and testing mechanical and electronic systems.
Responsibilities:

• Develop concepts for mechanical and electronic systems
• Program automated mechanisms and interfaces
• Detailed documentation of designs and programming code
• Carry out assembly tasks, including mechanical machining and electronics assembly.
• Work with supplier to determine manufacturing requirements, lead time estimation and obtaining quotes.

Competencies and Qualifications

Competencies:

• Very important: Creative problem solver, to be able to think on their feet to come up with unique solutions.
• Knowledge in 3D CAD modelling (preferably Solidworks), as well as technical drawings in ISO standard
• Knowledge of Motors, drives and actuators.
• Programming knowledge in C (C++) and Python, PLC languages an advantage.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux OS
• Organised and detailed orientated mind-set.
• Motivated and energetic
• Confident in English

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or technical college/Applied Science/Fachhochschule in Engineering field (Mechanical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Automation, Robotic)
• Preferably some workshop experience
